Orca X Pirate
A downloadable game for Windows
The notorious pirate captain Houshou Marine has found her latest prey, the young captain of the Orca pirates, Sakamata Chloe. Can captain Chloe win her freedom from her relentless huntress or does her fate lie in being captain Marine's newest toy?
This was a fun little experiment in trying to make a game while adhering to the limitations of a PC-8801 as best I could. That meant, among other things, 3-bit graphics, chiptune trackers (I used BambooTracker), and a fogotten control scheme, not seen in most modern PC games. And I know back in the day they didn't use Unreal Engine to make the games and that it is hardly a retro game engine, but I like UE and that's that.
btw, you NEED a NUMPAD to play the game. this is because I wanted to make the game as reminiscent of the og PC-88 games as possible and all their controls are built around the numpad.

Cool game!
It took me a bit to understand how the controls worked (especially the cannon loading), but the game was very interesting.
Very retro feel indeed with the pixel graphics and sfx.
Also funny dialogues lol.
